What to Expect After ThermiVa

We recently sat down with Tiffany Bankston, P.A., who performs the ThermiVa treatments at Genesis Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa, to answer questions patients might have before considering the procedure.

How many ThermiVa treatments does a patient undergo?

There are three 30-minute procedures performed per patient, one month apart. Because of the short timeframe, patients are able to return to work or normal activities the same day ThermiVa treatments are performed.

Who should get the ThermiVa treatment?

Patients that have a loose vagina after menopause or childbirth, vaginal dryness or lubrication, incontinence, or sexual dysfunction are the ideal patients for ThermiVa.

When will results be evident?

Immediately! There is no other procedure we do where patients can see results immediately after their first treatment. Although results will be visible at first, the final and more conclusive results will be visible after the third treatment.

Does the ThermiVa procedure hurt?

The ThermiVa procedure is completely painless. Patients will not experience burning, blistering or any other discomfort.

When can a patient engage in intercourse?

Since ThermiVa is non-invasive and uses gentle heat, patients can engage in intercourse with their partner the same day as treatment.

How long will the results last and will I have to do a follow-up procedure?

The answer is yes, you will eventually have to do a follow-up ThermiVa procedure. The majority of patients come in for routine maintenance anywhere from 9 to 12 months after their final procedure. However, some patients have had the treatment done two years ago and maintenance is not yet needed.
