About ThermiVa

ThermiVa uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat vaginal tissue to reclaim, restore, and revive feminine wellness, without any discomfort or downtime.

Non-ablative and noninvasive, the proprietary ThermiVa wand applicator delivers precise amounts of energy to specifically targeted areas of the labia and vulva. This helps to restore normal tissue tone and function. The handpiece can also deliver radiofrequency energy inside the vagina to revive atrophic tissue and other structures.

ThermiVa Candidates

You may be a good candidate for ThermiVa if vaginal laxity causes physical or emotional discomfort, interferes with clothing options, prevents you from enjoying intercourse, or results in a leaky bladder.

  • Are you experiencing a loss of self-confidence? Loss of interest in sex? Loss of desire?
  • Do you feel “loose” vaginally since childbirth or menopause?
  • Do you feel dry during intercourse?
  • Do you have trouble reaching orgasm?
  • Do you occasionally dribble or leak when you sneeze, cough, or exercise?
  • Have you ever “not quite made it” to the bathroom on time?

If you can answer “yes” to any of these questions, you may be the ideal ThermiVa candidate. The easiest way to find out is through a private, confidential, one-on-one consultation at Genesis Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa.

Good candidates for ThermiVa must also be in generally good health and have a negative Pap smear result from an OB/GYN within the last year. You will not be able to undergo ThermiVa treatment if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, have an active UTI or STD, or have had a recent vaginal prolapse. We will discuss all of these things in greater detail during your initial consultation.

Number of Treatments Needed

Sexual comfort and function are often restored after just one session. However, optimal results will require around three treatments spaced over three to four months. Each treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes.

FAQs

How Long Do ThermiVa Results Last?

Your results from ThermiVa will last more than a year. You may need maintenance treatment every year or so to help ensure continued comfort and results. This varies for each woman and can be best determined during your evaluation at one of our offices in the OKC area.

How Much Does ThermiVa Cost?

At Genesis Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, a package of three ThermiVa treatments costs approximately $3,500. We offer various financing options, including CareCredit® and Prosper® Healthcare Lending, to help make our procedures accessible. We also provide a discount for timely payment, along with other specials and incentives.

Is ThermiVa Painful?

A woman posing in beige underwear after ThermiVa® in Norman, OKThermiVa is a gentle, noninvasive treatment. While everyone’s sensitivity varies, it is generally well-tolerated.

Many patients compare the sensation to a hot stone massage. No anesthesia, numbing cream, or downtime is necessary. The device is specially designed for internal and external use, making the process discreet and comfortable.

How Soon Can I Resume Normal Activities After a ThermiVa Session?

You can return to normal daily activities – including work, exercise, and intimacy – immediately after a ThermiVa session.

There’s no downtime or recovery period required because the procedure is non-surgical and does not involve anesthesia or incisions. The lack of post-treatment restrictions is one of the reasons ThermiVa appeals to women seeking a discreet and convenient option.

While the treatment area may feel slightly warm right after the session, this sensation typically subsides quickly. Most patients even schedule their appointment during a lunch break or between errands without needing to adjust their usual routine.

Are There Any Side Effects Associated With ThermiVa?

ThermiVa is considered a low-risk treatment with minimal side effects reported. Most patients experience no adverse reactions, though a few may notice temporary warmth, redness, or minor swelling in the treated area immediately following the session. These effects are generally mild and resolve within a few hours.

Unlike surgical vaginal rejuvenation, ThermiVa does not carry risks such as bleeding, scarring, or infection. Since it’s noninvasive, patients avoid many complications associated with anesthesia and tissue disruption.

Will ThermiVa Affect My Menstrual Cycle or Fertility?

A cropped shot of a woman in white underwear after ThermiVa in Edmond, OKThermiVa does not interfere with your menstrual cycle or fertility.

The treatment uses controlled radiofrequency energy to gently heat vaginal tissue, encouraging collagen production and tissue tightening without impacting the uterus, ovaries, or hormonal balance. It targets external and internal vaginal tissues only, leaving reproductive organs unaffected.

ThermiVa is a safe option for women in various stages of life, including those planning to become pregnant in the future. However, it is not recommended during menstruation or pregnancy, so it’s best to schedule sessions accordingly and consult your provider with any fertility-related concerns before beginning treatment.

How Does ThermiVa Compare to Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation?

ThermiVa is a non-surgical alternative to traditional vaginal rejuvenation procedures like labiaplasty or vaginoplasty.

Surgery can provide dramatic anatomical changes, but it normally requires anesthesia, incisions, extended downtime, and a higher risk of complications. In contrast, ThermiVa delivers more subtle, gradual improvements in vaginal tightness, lubrication, and sexual function without cuts, scarring, or recovery time.

It’s important to note that ThermiVa results are not permanent and may require maintenance sessions. Still, many patients prefer the convenience and comfort it offers compared to surgical interventions.
