Five Questions About Blepharoplasty

Girl on the background of the sea Blepharoplasty, also known as an eyelid lift, improves the appearance of the eyes by addressing the age-related issues surrounding them. Consistently one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures, blepharoplasty can even improve vision in some cases, making it functionally useful as well.

At Genesis Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jayesh Panchal is pleased to offer both upper and lower eyelid lifts. If you have questions about the procedure or are ready to learn what it can do, please get in touch to schedule your consultation today.

What can an Eyelid Lift Correct?

Upper blepharoplasty can lift sagging eyelids, remove wrinkles from the upper lids, and restore a more alert appearance.

Lower blepharoplasty can eliminate dark and puffy skin underneath the eyes, remove wrinkles from the lower lids, and create a better-rested and more youthful look.

Will Blepharoplasty Lift My Eyebrows?

An eyelid lift will lift your lids, but it is not designed to raise sagging eyebrows. Surgical options, such as a forehead lift, and non-surgical treatments, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, can address droopy brows. These are often performed in conjunction with blepharoplasty.

Does Insurance Pay for Eyelid Surgery?

If your eyelid lift is done on the referral of an ophthalmologist and your insurance offers coverage, then it may be covered by insurance. More likely, however, it will not.

We offer several financing options, including third-party financing through CareCredit® and Prosper Health Lending, and are happy to discuss these options during your initial consultation.

How Long Does it Take to Recover from Blepharoplasty?

Initial recovery from eyelid surgery takes around seven to 14 days. After this period, some restrictions on strenuous activity will remain in place for six to eight weeks, but most people can resume work and non-demanding tasks at this time.

During your follow-up visits, Dr. Panchal will help you determine when it is safe to resume your normal activities.

Will My Eyelid Lift at Genesis Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa be Free?

There is a $50 charge for your initial consultation with Dr. Panchal. However, if you go on to have a procedure, that amount will be applied to your final costs.
