The deep extended facelift is an advanced facelift technique that produces natural-looking and long-lasting results through the release of several tension points and precise lifting of the underlying muscle, fascia, and tissue. With this technique, both muscle and skin are lifted at an anatomic angle, helping to highlight the face’s natural definition without producing a tight or overdone appearance.
A deep extended facelift addresses underlying and superficial tissue, making it more effective than traditional facelift techniques at correcting issues such as droopy cheeks, jowls, and deep creases and folds. Incredibly effective on its own, the deep extended facelift can also be combined with a neck lift, eyelid surgery, and brow lift to rejuvenate facial appearance completely. During your one-on-one consultation with our board-certified plastic surgeon, we can help you determine if combining facial procedures is the right fit for your needs.
How Long Does it Take to Recover from a Deep Extended Facelift?
Recovery from a deep plane facelift can take up to eight weeks, but you should be able to resume normal activities long before this.
Some swelling and bruising are expected during the first one to two weeks of recovery. These things should subside on their own with proper aftercare, such as keeping incisions dry and clean, sleeping with the head elevated, taking several brisk walks throughout the day, and using the pain management suggestions provided by our office. You should be able to wear makeup after 10 to 14 days, which can help cover any residual bruising.
Work can typically be resumed after 14 days, with more strenuous activities added as you recover. Things that can slow healing, harm incisions, or impact muscle strength may need to be avoided for several weeks but can slowly be resumed as you recover. During your follow-up visits, Dr. Panchal will help you decide when it is safe to resume all normal activities.
Everyone heals at a different rate, but once results have been realized, a deep plane facelift can last up to 15 years – much longer than results from other facelift techniques. Better still, you can see these results before your procedure with the 3D Crisalix OCULUS virtual technology available at our office. This takes the guesswork out of your decision-making and helps you decide with greater confidence if a deep extended facelift is the right choice for you.
