What is Newtox?

Jeuveau™ is a neuromodulator that works to block the signals between muscles and nerves, allowing facial muscles to relax and overlying skin to smooth. The main ingredient in Jeuveau is botulinum toxin A, the same primary ingredient in BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport, and Xeomin, earning it the nickname Newtox, but Jeuveau undergoes a more rigorous purification process – known as “Hi-Pure” technology – which helps preserve more of the active ingredient, enabling Jeuveau to deliver a higher potency injection.

"Loved my results from Jeuveau in my forehead. After 18 hours, I already see a difference. Looking forward to the 2 weeks results. Highly recommend this office. All employees are kind and comforting!" - Rachel

Where can Newtox be Injected?

Similar to Dysport, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and Xeomin, Jeuveau is labeled for use on frown lines, those furrows between the eyebrows that can make a person look both more aged and unpleasant. Newtox can also be used to smooth fine lines and deep wrinkles throughout the face and neck including:

  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Bunny lines
  • Wrinkles around the mouth
  • Pebbly chin
  • Neck bands

The best way to learn where Newtox may prove useful for your goals is through a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Panchal.

During this meeting, Dr. Panchal will carefully evaluate your areas of concern, discuss the benefits and limitations of various nonsurgical options, and help you choose the most effective technique for your needs.

Is Jeuveau Safe?

Jeuveau is an FDA approved neuromodulator with the same active ingredient as several that have been on the market for decades. The cosmetic benefits of botulinum toxin A are well documented and efficacy and safety of the ingredient have been extensively researched.

There is no downtime following Newtox injections. The most common side effects are minor swelling and discomfort, both of which tend to subside within just a few short days. While extremely rare, botulinum toxin A injections may produce an allergic reaction in some patients and can cause difficulties breathing, trouble swallowing, and slurred speech. These symptoms should be brought to the attention of Dr. Panchal in the rare case they occur.

Can Anyone Get Newtox?

Nearly all patients can get Newtox treatment as long as they are in good overall health, do not have muscle weakness in the desired treatment area, and are not pregnant or nursing. It is also recommended that patients have realistic expectations about the results of their Newtox treatment, keeping in mind that Newtox may not change the entire structure of your face. Patients that have realistic goals about their desired appearance are most satisfied with the results of their treatment.

Are There Any Side Effects of Getting Newtox?

Even though this treatment is safe, the most common side effects from Juveau™/Newtox are headaches, eyelid drooping, and sometimes even flu-like symptoms, depending on which area of the face you were treated. With the guidance of Dr. Panchal, however, these side effects can be easily managed and will often subside within 48 hours of your treatment.

What Is the Recovery Process Like?

Newtox injections typically require only a few hours of downtime. After this period, patients can return to their normal routines. It’s recommended that patients refrain from touching the treated areas immediately after their procedure and avoid heavy physical activity.

Results from your treatment will typically appear within 24 hours, but the full effect can take up to a few days to be the most noticeable.

How Long Does Newtox Last?

It typically takes four to seven days for results from Jeuveau to become apparent. The smoothing effects of the product should last for three to four months. As with BOTOX® Cosmetic, you can maintain results by coming back to our office at regularly scheduled intervals, typically two or three times a year, for repeat injections. This is not required, however. As with Xeomin, Dysport, and other neuromodulators, Newtox will not cause you to age more rapidly nor will it enhance wrinkles after it has worn off. If you choose against additional injections, your skin will simply return to its untreated state.

While Jeuveau is a new product, similar products have been on the market for decades. During this time, there has been no evidence that continued use of a neuromodulator will produce future problems. In fact, studies conducted by federal and international government agencies, the companies that manufacture these products, and third-party health, safety, and medical groups have found botulinum toxin A injections to be safe and effective for both short and long-term use.
